Green Road Structure Fire

Tanker 2 Sperryville Fire arrived to home fully involved with fire starting to engulf nearby shed. Chief 2, Richie Burke took command. Power lines across vehicles were arcing preventing initial attack to save the shed. Occupant had been reported inside but was found outside safe. A high flow water Blitz fire was put in action by Tanker 2 to cool down the fire so hose line operations could be put into action. Power company arrived quickly and cut power allowing firefighters to attack vehicle and shed now beyond saving.
Became a good learning experience for new red hat firefighters who each had plenty of hose time. Final operation was to knock the chimney down. Blitz line quickly put the 30 foot chimney on to the ground. Things went well, but with embers hidden it was expected that firefighters may have to return for rekindle. Did with Companies from Castleton and Sperryville returning to check conditions.
