Washington was toned for a motorcycle accident on Warren Ave. Responded to find State Police had been in a chase with the motorcycle at high speeds. A slight curve put the motorcycle on the bank of Old Mill Rd. Disaster followed when the elevation of the bank, photo 1, sent the motorcycle and riders airborne across Warren Avenue into 10 foot bank along Warren Ave. A lady riding on the back was propelled onto a field above the bank. While the driver was found in the ditch with motorcycle completely destroyed.

Helicopters were called for both. With the lady flown first with more serious injuries. The second helicopter

landed and transported the male driver to Fairfax Hospital.

Washington had great help from Sperryville Fire, Sperryville Rescue, Amissville Fire and Rescue, Flint Hill Rescue, Rappahannock County Sheriff’s, and State Police on scene. All hands contributed to a successful call. Both patients had serious injuries but should recover.
