Community members who have brush piles too large for them to control will often request assistance from our fire department. We a glad to oblige if members are available and conditions are correct to make a good safe burn. Attached are two burns we did. The one at the Rappahannock Farmers’ Co-op was next to a brush area so 3 lines were used to maintain control. The second one pictured was in the middle of a field. This had been attempted earlier by homeowner and had fire racing across the field and 911 was called to extinguish.
