Called for vehicle crash in medium of 211 eastbound past Massie’s Corner.  We expected to find minor crash in middle of grass.

Washington was the first on scene in the medic unit.  To our surprise, it looked like a bomb went off.  A small Toyota pickup truck was on its roof after flipping 4 times.  The driver could be seen lying under the bed of the truck.  A passerby did a great job covering and comforting the driver until EMS arrived.  At first we suspected ejection but later determined that she released her seat belt and crawled out the back window..

Severe back pain warranted air medivac.  Further injuries on inspection in back of ambulance confirmed a helo flight was the correct choice..

Assistance from Sperryville Fire at the landing zone and Amissville at the scene had the incident running smoothly.
